UWRF's Human Resources department has great professional employee onboarding and student employee information. In addition, here is some information we at DoTS hope new UWRF employees find beneficial. If you would like further technology assistance, contact DoTS however you are most comfortable.
- Employees automatically get access to various technology applicable to their department/college.
- If any additional technology is needed right from the start, usually your supervisor has already asked for that via our onboarding service offering.
- If your department has a staff web page, have your department's web author include you on that page.
Falcon Account
- Often, you will log into systems using your Falcon Account.
- Part of the log in process is secondary authentication. We use Okta at UWRF.
ID Card
- Besides having a wired network, we also are part of the (encrypted) eduroam wireless network. To get connected on a personal device go to go.uwrf.edu/wifi
- In order for you to be able to use the network at other campuses, you'll need to set up your profile correctly.
- When off campus, you can connect to our virtual private network (VPN) from your university device which allows you to work remotely but still have access to technology as if you were on campus.
- Looking to set up meetings or to see when someone is available? Use Microsoft Outlook Calendar.
- Microsoft Teams allows you to communicate with your team, chat with individuals or groups, or even make video calls! Teaching faculty/staff often use Microsoft Teams for their classes.
- Microsoft OneDrive allows you to save the files you are working on. And share them. And work on them at the same time with others. A lot better than sending attachments via email!
- eSIS is UWRF's student information system. (Your department may need you to have elevated access in eSIS to do your job.)
- myapps.uwrf.edu is your dashboard for UWRF resources: Time and Absence, Payroll, Benefits, Office 365, eSIS, etc.
- There are many software solutions across campus for the business side of the house.
- UWRF employees get computers automatically as part of the onboarding process. There are ways to get additional hardware and software to help you do your job.
- You can print/copy/scan at one of our Multi-Function Devices (MFDs) found across campus.
- UWRF uses Microsoft Office 365 for online applications (Outlook mail/calendar, Word, Excel, etc.) All university-issued computers have the Office suite installed. In addition, as a UWRF employee, you are provided a full featured version of Microsoft Office 365 included with your email address to install on up to 5 personal devices.
- DoTS works with web authors across campus to provide campus and the general public information on the UWRF website.
- On the DoTS portal:
- You can report any technology not working.
- You can ask for anything that DoTS offers.
- You can track your requests.
- There are lots of links for employees on the UWRF website.
- Finding answers to questions:
- You can find answers to your general questions by searching the internet.
- We have a knowledge base available to you for UWRF-specific questions.
- Here is an easy way to search the internet for UWRF answers: Search "uwrf" plus any other relevant words. You can access answers in our knowledge base this way, too.
- UWRF offers LinkedIn Learning as a way to learn subjects more in depth. Take advantage of this!
