Microsoft Office 365: Apps

Office 365 provides students, faculty, and staff with the enterprise-grade communication and productivity services they need with the power and flexibility our institution requires. What follows are a list of available applications in the Office 365 app launcher. The list of apps will vary depending on the user group.

The following apps are fully supported by DoTS

    Outlook on the web: The basic Office 365 email application.

   OneDrive for Business: Cloud-based storage for all of your files. Always have the latest version of your files accessible from any PC/Mac computer, iOS, Android or Windows device. All users are provided with 1 TB of storage space and can share their files with anyone.

   People: This is where you can create and store personal contacts and where you can view address books that have been set up for the university.

  Tasks: Use your Tasks folder to keep track of things that you need to do but don’t necessarily want to put on your calendar.

  OneNote: A digital notebook that automatically saves and synchronizes your notes.

  Calendar: Lets you create and track appointments and meetings. You can create multiple calendars, link to other people’s calendars, and even share your calendar with other people at UWRF.

  Word, Excel, PowerPoint: Online versions of the popular Microsoft Office products.


The following apps are not supported by DoTS

...but are made available to use on an incidental or exploratory basis by students, faculty and staff.

   Yammer is a private enterprise social networking service which provides teams an easy way to organize, collaborate and stay connected on the go.

   Delve uses machine learning to surface relevant content tailored to each individual user based on their activity in Office 365. It helps you discover the information that's likely to be most interesting to you right now.

   Video is a secure portal for posting, discovering and sharing video content. Adaptive smooth streaming technology optimizes video playback for the device it's being viewed on.

  Class Notebook app lets an instructor quickly set up a personal workspace for every student, a content library for handouts, and a collaboration space for lessons and creative activities - all within one powerful notebook.

  Sway is an app that allows the user to create and share presentations, interactive reports, personal stories and more. Family, friends, classmates, and coworkers can see your creations on the Web without signing up, signing in, or downloading anything.

  Flow is a service that allows you to create automated workflows between your favorite applications and services to synchronize files, get notifications, collect data, and more.

   PowerApps is a collection of software services and apps that work together to fundamentally transform and accelerate how you build and share custom line of business applications.

  Forms allow teachers and students to quickly and easily create custom quizzes, surveys, questionnaires, registrations and more.

  Teams are chat-based workspaces which provide collaboration tools for teams of people.
