Self Service: How to Install macOS/iOS Software

You can install approved software without needing to contact Technology Services on any individually-assigned, UWRF-owned macOS computer or iOS device using the Self Service application, the Mac equivalent of Software Center. If you don't see Self Service on a university-owned device and it is not a lab or group device, please contact DoTS.

  1. Click on the icon that looks like a tuxedo with the UWRF logo. It is usually in the Dock, the bar of icons on the bottom or side of the screen.
    • If you don't see it, look in Macintosh HD | Applications for Self Service.
    • An icon with color wedges instead of a tuxedo, , is uncommon but normal.
  2. Log in with your and Falcon Account username and password.
  3. Select the install button for any applications you would like to install
    • Selecting the item icon will provide more information about the item.
    • Select the categories at the left of the window to see more options, such as those for Fixes & Utilities fixing problems.
    • You can seek items in the search box at the top left of the window

If you don't see a piece of software in Self Service that you would expect people to use for the mission of the university, please contact DoTS.
