Canvas (Students): Respondus LockDown Browser is not working for me so I can't take my quiz

Issue: I am unable to launch LockDown Browser for an online quiz on Canvas.

Environment: LockDown Browser, Canvas, quiz, test

Resolution

  1. Clear the cache on your browser (all history)
  2. Uninstall any previous version of LockDown Browser using the directions for your OS (Windows or Mac)
  3. Install LockDown Browser from Canvas
  4. Make sure all programs are closed on your machine (Outlook, Word, other browsers)
  5. Launch LockDown Browser from the desktop once installed
    • This will take you to the UWRF authentication screen  
  6. Log in
  7. Choose the course card
  8. Open the Quiz and select take quiz
