About the DoTS Web Team

The DoTS Web Team...

  • helps web authors across campus optimize web content in a way that effectively communicates to the visitor. Specifically, the Web Team authors the www.uwrf.edu website through CommonSpot content management software. The Web Team also deals with a variety of other important services including Marketplace, Google Analytics, and the master event calendar.
  • provides instruction to campus website authors about how to better optimize UWRF web content while keeping mobile devices and screen sizes in mind. The Web Team works closely with University Communications and Marketing Office in this effort.
  • posts content to top level pages and directories as needed or requested by campus offices.
  • maintains the website templates and page styling. Upon request, the Web Team will review the feasibility of adding special page features such as scripting and implement them as necessary.
  • maintains permissions for authors to access web subsites.
  • assists web authors with analyzing web traffic using Google Analytics.

The DoTS Web Team does not create content for marketing, academic or informational use for campus offices or departments (except for DoTS).

What can we do for you?

  • The web team helps people post content to the campus web site and other online locations such as Marketplace and the master event calendar.
  • The web team trains people quickly and thoroughly to use the software that helps them communicate their online message.

Who is able to edit the website?

  • Certified web authors. Want to be a web author? Get clearance from your department and participate in CommonSpot training.
