Printing: PDF/Image file fails to print

Issue: I attempt to release a document at an MFD and the document appears to "vanish" (never prints). Sometimes I get these messages: "Print Job Rejected - Unsupported File Type" and "This job has automatically been canceled, and your account has not been charged."

Environment: Windows 10, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Photos, PrintAnywhere

Resolution:

Printing from Windows 10 "modern" applications (such as Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Photos) is not currently supported by PrintAnywhere. When attempting to release a job printed from a "modern" application, the job will often appear to vanish and never print.

You may set the defaults on your workstation to a different application to prevent this issue from occurring.

Here are some recommended alternative applications. (These do not use the Windows 10 "modern" print drivers so they are compatible with PrintAnywhere.)

  • PDF Files: Adobe Acrobat DC, Adobe Reader DC, or Google Chrome (Available in Software Center
  • JPEG/PNG Files: Microsoft Paint (Installed on all Windows computers)
