Printing Account(s) Update

After pressing the "Request Service" button, enter these (Action > Category > Subcategory > Service):
Request Something DoTS offers > Devices > Printer / MFD > Printing Account Update


Charges that occur when employees print or copy using multifunction devices (MFDs) and print to laser printers are billed to printing accounts which are loosely based on departments. Most of the time, when people are brought into a department or leave a department they will be added/moved/removed as part of the onboarding/moving/offboarding process. However, there may be instances where a person needs to be added/removed to a printing account such as when a person was missed in the process or when someone outside of the department is given authority to print/copy on the department's dime. Request this service if you'd like to add or remove a person to a printing account. We'll need the 10 digit funding string (aka 10 digit account number).


  • The only way an employee can print is by being associated with at least one printing account.
  • Having people associated with printing accounts allows for real-time reporting of printing/copying activities and automated billing processes.
  • An employee can be associated with more than one printing account. (Each employee is assigned one printing account by default.)
