Background
Calls to telephone company provided directory services including 411 and XXX-555-1212 are blocked from being called due to the extreme cost of the service. Calls range from only a few dollars to over $10 per call. Then, if you have the service complete your call, you may incur a significant per minute charge as well.
There are many free services online that will give you similar results to that of the phone company. Directory assistance through the phone company is limited to only "land line" phones and do not include comprehensive coverage of that the online services provide through data mining.
