Navigate (Faculty): Importing your Class Schedule into Outlook Calendar

Before students are able to schedule advising, ensure your Outlook calendar is setup appropriately. Students need to see your calendar to schedule advising sessions. To do this, open the web-version of Outlook and log in with your UWRF credentials. There is a quick link on the university homepage: uwrf.edu > Quick Links > Email.

The class schedule calendar search is used to create a file that may be imported into calendar applications such as Microsoft Outlook.

  • From https://www.uwrf.edu/ClassSchedule/, select Class Schedule Calendar from the left-hand menu.
  • Enter criteria that best describe the classes for which you are searching such as the term and your name in the Instructor field. (Hint: Select your subject and use first name and last name if multiple instructors share the last name. Be sure to the use the same first name or first initial as is listed in the schedule.)
  • Once the results are displayed and verified, select the Download CourseCalendar.ics link which is found just above the results.
  • Select Open once the file has downloaded (lower left of your browser). It may be helpful to rename the file to indicate which class it is. Make note of the location to which it was saved. (Recommendation: Save it to your desktop for ease of importing.)
  • From the web version of Outlook, open your calendar and select Import and then From file. Select Browse and then select the desired file for the class schedule you downloaded.

This process happens each semester. If class schedules change, you will need to update new schedules.
