Canvas (Instructors): Create A Sandbox Course

A sandbox course is a "template" or holding area for course information. A sandbox course can be used to import a course prior to eSIS syncing with Canvas, copy a prior term Canvas course for redesign, or to update items and test features. Sandbox courses cannot have student enrollments in them. If you need a non-instructional Canvas course, please use this service request: https://technology.uwrf.edu/TDClient/1979/Portal/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=34001

To create a sandbox course:

  1. In the Global Navigation tool bar to the left of the Dashboard in Canvas, select Help
  2. Choose Create a Sandbox Course

  1. Enter a Course Name
  2. Enter a Course Code
