Issue: I am unable to open Camtasia. I am receiving the error message: "Camtasia 9 cannot load the library"
Environment: PC computer, Windows 10, off campus.
Resolution:
If you're accessing Camtasia away from campus and you're trying to open an existing project with assets (shapes, video, audio) that were saved on a network drive rather than on your computer, Camtasia will give you a library cannot be found error.
Try accessing Camtasia when you are on campus to see if you get the error again. If you do get it again, here are the steps to fix this:
- Search for this folder on your computer - C:\ProgramData\TechSmith\Camtasia Studio\Library 3.0
- Select all the files in this folder and delete them.
- Close the folder.
- Open Camtasia.
Another solution is to request an upgrade to Camtasia 2018. This error does not occur in the 2018 version and you still will be able to open existing projects from previous versions.
