Printing: PowerPoint and Web Print

When uploading a PowerPoint file to Web Print, the layout is one slide per page which tends to be inefficient for note-taking purposes. The steps below outline the process to convert a PowerPoint file into a PDF with the correct formatting.

Windows Computers

  1. Open PowerPoint on your computer and open the file you wish to print
  2. Select the File menu in the application and select Print
  3. Select Microsoft Print to PDF under Printer
  4. Select the desired page layout in the dropdown. (3-4 slides per page usually works well for note-taking purposes.)
  5. Ensure the page orientation is set to portrait
  6. Select the Print button
  7. A save dialog window appears. Save the file to a convenient location.

macOS Computers

  1. Open your presentation in PowerPoint
  2. Select File->Print
  3. Select Show Details
  4. Set the desired slide layout in the Layout drop-down box. (3-4 per page typically works well for note-taking purposes.)
  5. Ensure the page orientation is set to Portrait
  6. Select the arrow next to the PDF button in the lower left corner and select Save as PDF
  7. Save the document to a location your computer

iOS and iPadOS Devices

 

  1. Open your presentation in PowerPoint app.
  2. Select | Print | AirPrint .
  3. Set the desired slide layout. (3-4 per page typically works well for note-taking purposes.)
  4. Tap Next.
  5. Pinch zoom the print preview at the bottom of the window.
  6. Tap ⏍̂ | Save to Files to save the PDF to your device.
