Hearing Assist Technology as an Accessibility Accommodation

Student accommodations are available through the Disability Resource Center

  • Students can use a hearing assist device to amplify the instructor's voice
  • Information is passed from the instructor's microphone and transmitter to the listening device (wired headphones/ear buds or cochlear devices
  • Students can use either wired non-noise cancelling ear bud(s) or a pendant 
  • All equipment takes AA batteries

In-Classroom Setup:

  1. Disability Resource Center issues the device to an instructor for in-classroom setup
  2. Instructor sets up the device as shown in the attached, printable instructions (see article attachment)
  3. Student will need to have line-of-sight to the transmitter
