Wireless Presentation: ScreenCasting

ScreenCasting in the Classrooms/Conference Rooms

This system enables quick screen sharing or mirroring using simple keystrokes, making it easy for both instructors and students to connect.

The technology supports multiple simultaneous connections and can serve as an accessibility aid for students with impairments or special needs. With advance notice a room can be configured to allow for an individual student to view the screencast on a local computer.

Instructions

  1. For classrooms ensure the system is On and ScreenCast button is active, it will look something like this:

  2. Once displaying, follow the instructions on the screen
    representation of classroom display image with instructions to connect wirelessly

Other options for Connectivity

  1. Android, Apple and other technologies are supported using MiraCast, Airplay and other connectivity platforms. These are unsupported, but documentation exists and easily found through a web search. 
  2. For those with accessibility needs, accommodations are available for display of content to a local computer. Use-cases include; bad sight lines, visual impairment or other physical impairments. Contact the Disability Resource Center for more detail and to arrange for an accommodation.
