Windows 11: Update Instructions via Software Center

  1. Ensure that your computer is plugged in. 
  2. Open the Software Center app and go to the Updates tab.

  1. Select the Windows 11, Version 23H2 option. 
  2. Select Install, then Install again in the pop-up window.

  1. The install process usually takes a couple of hours. During this time you are free to use your computer.
  2. After the install completes, you are prompted to restart. This process takes 10-20 minutes to complete. Save all your work first!

  1. During the restart process, the Windows 11 installation completes.
    • Some computers may take multiple restarts to finish the installation. 
If after the update you experience issues such as the mouse not moving smoothly etc., try running driver updates from the "Dell Command Update" application installed on your computer. If that does not resolve the issue, please contact DoTS.
