Student Employee Account Sponsorship Portal

UWRF student supervisors use the Student Employee Account Sponsorship Portal to activate work accounts for their student staff. These accounts, often referred to as "S" accounts, allow student workers to keep work and academics separate, enable better IT security, and ensure access to resources from a trusted account. For more information on student employee accounts ("S" accounts) see: Student Employee Accounts: Frequently Asked Questions

Creating (sponsoring) an "S" account*

This flags the student's work account ("S" account) to be created (or restored if disabled) and moves them into the sponsored students area in the your department section.

  1. Visit the portal. You will see two sections: Sponsored students for your department and unsponsored students for your department
  2. Under the unsponsored students section, find the student employee you wish to activate and select the employee's employee ID (emplid)
  3. At the bottom of the page, select Create Student Account

* It may take up to 24 hours for the S-Account to be ready to use.

Taking ownership of a sponsored account

  1. Visit the portal
  2. Check the box next to the employee ID (emplid) of each student you wish to sponsor
  3. Select Take Sponsorship

Adjusting a sponsored account's end date*

If a student employee ends employment early or will be extending their employment, you are able to adjust the end date to match. If you are adjusting end dates, also notify HR of the change using the "Student Rehire or Change Form (White)" located on the human resources student employment page.

  1. Visit the portal
  2. Check the box next to the employee ID (emplid) of each student you wish to adjust to the same date. Then select Adjust End Date.
  3. Enter the new end date and a comment. Then select Update End Date.

* You may only update the end date of students you sponsor.
