Software in the computer labs allows students access to specific disciplines that would otherwise be too expensive for students to purchase on their own.
The Division of Technology Services coordinates the procurement, installation, and maintenance of software in instructional computer labs.
Computer software is not carried over from academic year to academic year; only the departmental software requested by the June 1 deadline is included in the updated lab configuration.
Requesting New and/or Updated Computer Lab Software
- Faculty members can request new software applications here.
- The deadline to request new software is June 1.
- Software requested before June 1 are given priority for installation in the computer labs for the following fall term. Software requested on or after June 1 may not be available at the beginning of the fall term.
- Funding required for applicable software licensing must be identified at the time of the software request.
- Software must meet all security, feasibility and procurement requirements as detailed in UW System policies.
- Only software with a current support/maintenance agreement will be included.
