Summary

One of the first troubleshooting steps.

Body

Rebuilding your Outlook profile is a basic first troubleshooting step for the application (not the web version). Here is how you do it...

The first step is to quit Outlook. This is very important. If you don't close Outlook, you will receive errors when trying to remove your profile.

Windows

Two main steps: removing your profile and recreating your profile. First, removing...

  1. Quit Outlook.
  2. Open the Windows Control Panel
  3. Open Mail Microsoft Outlook (32-bit)
  4. Select Show Profiles
  5. Highlight the profile to remove
  6. Select Remove
  7. Select OK
  8. A prompt pop-up appears. Select Yes.

Now that we have removed your old profile, let's create the new one.

  1. Start Outlook
  2. Enter "Outlook" into the Profile Name field
  3. Select OK
  4. Verify the name and email are correct and select Next
  5. You may be prompted to enter a username and password
    1. Enter your email address
    2. Enter your Falcon Account password
  6. If prompted, select OK
  7. From the Congratulations page, select Finish

Shared mailboxes may take some time to re-appear in Outlook. It may take up to a few hours for them to show up in the list of available mailboxes. If you need immediate access to a shared mailbox, please use Outlook Online in the interim.

Mac

  1. Quit Outlook.
  2. From Finder, open the Applications folder.
  3. Ctrl+click or right-click Microsoft Outlook and select Show Package Contents.
  4. Open Contents > SharedSupport and launch Outlook Profile Manager.
  5. Highlight the profile and click the - button to delete the profile. (Move the profile to the trash bin if asked.)
  6. Relaunch Outlook.
