Okta Multi-Factor Authentication: Prompting for Biometric

What happens if I am being prompted to use biometric and I don't have my computer or biometric device?

  • If you can get to the machine you setup Okta you can login to your account via myapps.uwrf.edu and add your smartphone as a device. 
  1. Login to the machine with biometric setup
  2. Log into the myapps.uwrf.edu portal
  3. Click on your name and select Settings
  4. Add your account to the Okta Verify mobile app (scan the QR code from your phone)
  5. Configure your device (optional)
  1. Install Okta Verify App
  2. Open app and tap “+” to add an account (upper right-corner)
  3. Select the “Organization (work, school, company)” account type
  4. Select “Skip” if you don’t have another device set up already
  5. Select “No, Sign In Instead”
  6. Enter “myapps.uwrf.edu” as the Organization Sign-in URL and tap “Next”
  7. Log in with your Falcon account credentials when prompted
  8. After logging in, select the option to enable confirmation when prompted
  9. Tap “Done” on the success message
