Voicemail: Sample Scripts

If you need to change a greeting, follow the instructions in the Voice Mail Greetings article.

These are suggested greetings. You are welcome to record any greeting that you feel represent you and the university in a positive light. The "press zero" option for most mailboxes have been configured as your department main line. If it has not, it will ring the Campus Information Desk. If that is not wanted, please contact DoTS to have DoTS change that for you.

Standard Greeting

You have reached the voicemail of {name, university title} at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. I’m sorry that I’m not available to take your call. Please leave a detailed message and I will return your call as soon as I am able. If you need immediate assistance, please press 0 to be routed to the department line for assistance. Thank you.

Greeting for Faculty that do not Check Voicemail

You have reached the voicemail of {name, university title} at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Please contact me via email at {email address}. I do not check this voicemail. If you need immediate assistance, please press 0 to be routed to the department line for assistance. Thank you.

Out of Office – Follow prompts to set-up alternate greeting

You have reached the voicemail of {name, university title} at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.   I am out of the office from {date} to {date} and will not be checking voicemail. If you need immediate assistance, please press 0 to be routed to the department line for assistance. Otherwise, please leave a detailed message and I will return your call when I return to the office. Thank you.
