Canvas (Students): Setup Respondus LockDown Browser for Chromebooks and iPad

Instructors need to edit the exam settings to allow iPads to access Respondus LockDown Browser. Instructors do not need to take action for Chromebooks as they are automatically enabled for use when Respondus LockDown Browser is enabled for an exam.

Note: Android tablets cannot use Respondus LockDown Browser.

To use LockDown Browser on a Chromebook

To use Respondus LockDown Browser on a Chromebook, add the Lockdown Browser extension to your Chrome browser.

  1. Get the Chrome browser extension
  2. Install the extension
  3. Go to your course
  4. Select the exam
  5. Download LockDown Browser

To use LockDown Browser on an iPad

To use Respondus LockDown Browser on an iPad, download the client from the AppStore.

  1. Go to the AppStore
  2. Search for Respondus LockDown Browser
  3. Download the application
