Technology Quick Reference

Welcome to UWRF! As an employee of the university, the Division of Technology Services (DoTS) is here to help support you in your work. We provide support for technology issues you may encounter as well as providing services to ensure a productive environment. Below are some of the services we provide as well as a conduit for requesting assistance.

Requesting Assistance from DoTS

There are several ways to contact DoTS. We recommend using the request portal for managing all help and service requests.

  • To report an issue, request services, or ask questions please visit (and bookmark): technology.uwrf.edu
    • By using this portal you are able to track your requests, bookmark services, and browse our knowledge base for self-help articles
  • You can also visit us in person at Davee Library 160, email us at dots@uwrf.edu, or call 715.425.3687

Falcon Account Management

Your Falcon Account (sometimes referred to as "W number") requires initial activation and subsequent password changes.

Office 365 Email/Calendar/Office Applications

River Falls is a Microsoft campus meaning our office productivity suite includes the Microsoft Office 365 applications. This includes Skype as our real-time chat platform in addition to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others.

File Storage/Collaboration

Consult with your department on preferred storage locations. Here are options for file storage and collaboration:

  • Office 365 OneDrive offers a collaborative way to share documents as well as providing automated backup. This solution is preferred over local storage (saved directly to your computer).   • FalconShare networked file locations are maintained by departments and access is granted by departmental request. For more information on using FalconShare, refer to FalconShare
