In each residence hall, there is a key cabinet that stores all necessary keys needed to navigate throughout that particular building. Residence Life employees have access to the key cabinet in their respective residence hall. A pre-approved university ID along with a PIN credential are both required in order to gain entry into the key cabinet.

Key cabinets are also located in other buildings across campus such as University Center, Davee Library, Maintenance & Central Stores, and Falcon Center. Access to these cabinets is based on need and approval from managers of the area.

  • A robust audit trail of all keys
  • Flexibility of controlling who gets access to what keys and when they get access
  • Reduce the chance of losing keys
  • Ease of replacing/updating lost or new credentials
