Canvas: Complete Your Canvas Registration for Continuing Education Courses at UW–River Falls

Continuing Education courses at UW–River Falls use the University of Wisconsin System’s Canvas Continuing Education instance. This platform is separate from the regular instructional Canvas used for degree seeking students. Follow these steps to register and access your course:

Step 1: Check Your Email

You will receive an email from Universities of Wisconsin Canvas.

• Subject: Finish Registration: Canvas

Open the email and locate the “Click here to finish the registration process” link.

Step 2: Finish the Registration Process

Selecting the link will open the Welcome Aboard! screen.

1. Confirm that the Login field is populated with your email address.

2. Create a password. Your password must be at least 8 characters long and include:

   • Uppercase and lowercase letters

   • Numbers

   • Special characters

3. Set your time zone.

4. Agree to the acceptable use policy.

5. Click Register.

Step 3: Accept Your Course Invitation

After registering, you will see an invitation to join your course(s).

• Click Accept to complete your enrollment.

Step 4: Access Canvas in the Future

To log in at any time:

1. Visit: https://uws-ce.instructure.com/

2. Click UW Continuing Education Student.

3. Enter your Login (your email address).

4. Enter the password you created in Step 2.
