FalconShare: Gray "X" or "Filing Cabinet" icon on files

Summary

They indicate where the files are stored. Double-clicking opens the files in either case.

Body

Issue: Files in campus file shares display a gray "x" or a "filing cabinet" icon over the normal file icon (examples below). File preview functionality may be unavailable.

Environment: Campus file shares (T: drive, S: drive, other network shares)

Resolution: This is an expected function of the FalconShare service. If files are not accessed frequently, they are automatically "tiered" out to the Azure Files service which provides additional storage capacity for infrequently-accessed data reducing on-campus storage usage. Double-clicking on the file will automatically download the full file from the Azure Files service and the file will open normally.
