Faculty and Staff (University Issued Computers)

Mac OS - Password change

1. Make sure your computer is on campus or connected to the VPN
2. Open System Settings
3. Select Users & Groups
4. Click ⓘ on your account
5. Select Change Password
6. Open the Self Service app
7. Search for Authentication is disabled and click Fix
8. Enter you new password when prompted

Windows - Password change

1. Make sure your computer is on campus or connected to the VPN
2. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete
3. Select Change Password

Students (Personal Computers)

• Use Password Self-Service and select the change or forgot password options

Forgot your Password?

Reset using challenge questions or SMS

You can use this option only if you have successfully registered responses to challenge questions or successfully setup a recovery email or phone number in Password Self-Service in the past (which typically happens when activating/registering an account). You are prompted with two of your security challenge questions. The answers are not case-sensitive but if you've forgotten responses, you will either need to use one of the options below or contact DoTS for assistance. The steps:

1. Visit https://password.uwrf.edu/
2. Click Forgotten Password
3. Enter W#
4. At the option screen, select Secret Questions and Answers OR SMS/Email Verification
5. Answer the questions when prompted OR enter code sent to your device
6. Choose and enter a new password.
7. You may be prompted to verify your account profile information including an emergency alert phone number and other methods for resetting your password as well as the option to receive expiration reminders. Select Continue to confirm your responses.
8. On the final screen, there is a message that your password has been changed.
