On May 13, 2022, the Falcon Dollars program ended after nearly 35 years of serving UWRF students, faculty, staff, and emeriti. The Falcon Dollars program was discontinued due to operational costs associated with the program and the lack of the need to provide a cashless society inside the walls of UWRF. When this program was started, students did not have access to credit cards or other forms electronic forms of payment in their daily lives. Costs to operate this program now far exceed using regular credit cards or electronic payments like PayPal, Samsung, Apple or Android Pay.
- For program refund requirements, refer to the sections listed below to find which option relates most to you.
- If you qualify based on the requirements listed below, you do not have to request your refund. Processing of refunds will occur automatically by the end of June 2022 based on the guidelines listed in the appropriate section.
- If you have questions regarding the refund process, contact the Student Billing office at billing@uwrf.edu or 715.425.3145.
- If you have questions regarding the closeout of the program, contact DoTS.
Refunds for Students
- The last day to purchase and to use up Falcon Dollars is May 13, 2022.
- The standard $20 refund processing fee will be waived.
- Pursuant to Wisconsin state statute 20.905(3), balances under $2.00 will not be processed.
- Refunds will only be made to students enrolled in the Fall 2021 or Spring 2022 semesters.
- Students last enrolled prior to Fall 2021 will be subject to standard refund procedures and limitations.
- Students continuing UWRF enrollment after Spring 2022 term:
- Falcon Dollar balances will be transferred into their eSIS student financial account.
- This transfer will be paid against any outstanding balances or will be applied as a pre-payment to any future charges.
- Students graduating from, transferring out of, or otherwise not continuing with UWRF:
- Falcon Dollar balances will be transferred to fulfill any outstanding parking citations, textbook, or library fines prior to refunding.
- After that, any remaining Falcon Dollar balances over $2.00 will be refunded in the form of a check to the student's homeaddress on file in eSIS. Checks will be processed by Accounts Payable.
- Checks returned to us will be applied against the student financial account and the future of that account will follow standard procedures.

As part of this change, "personal printing" accounts for faculty and staff will be disabled on May 13th to coincide with ending of the Falcon Dollars program. There is not enough usage of this program to justify the ongoing costs to maintain the service.
Alternative printing options for personal use include Fast Copy on campus, or the River Falls Public Library offers the ability to print to the community, information regarding this service and associated costs are available here:

Refunds for Emeriti

- The standard $20 refund processing fee will be waived.
- Pursuant to Wisconsin state statute 20.905(3), balances under $2.00 will not be processed.
- Those with balances over $2 will receive an email before July 1, 2022, to their @uwrf.edu email account requesting an address to where a check may be mailed.
- Those that do not reply by the deadline stated in the email will be subject to standard refund procedures and limitations.
